A TEENAGER has died after being struck by a train in Alvechurch.

Emergency services were called to Alvechurch Railway Station on June 4 at about 6.15pm to reports that a person had been hit by a train.

British Transport Police (BTP) attended the incident along with paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

The 17-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

A BTP spokesperson said a file will be prepared for the coroner and the incident is not currently being treated as suspicious.

Two air ambulances from Cosford and Strensham, a land ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.

A West Midands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 6.19pm to Alvechurch Railway Station to reporters of a collision between a train and an ambulance.

"On arrival we found one male patient who was in cardiac arrest.

"Ambulance staff administered CPR and advanced life support, however unfortunately, it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead in the scene."
