A BAND of young rockers, who answered the call to join a new Bromsgrove music school, are rehearsing for their first live gig.
Bromsgrove Rock School launched on April 26 at St John's Middle School and has since attracted 12 budding musicians from across the district.
Members were divided into three teams and have spent the lasts few months learning rock classics, including Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes, coached by professional musician Brian Hoggard and vocal coach Ava Thompson.
The group will take to The Swann Inn stage in Upton Warren on July 14 from 7pm, with their next performance at Belbroughton Scarecrow Festival on October 1.
Readers are invited to attend their debut show, which costs £2 to enter, with all proceeds going to the David Morgan Trust.
The trust provided funding for the set-up of Bromsgrove Rock School and was created by former Bromsgrove District Councillor David Morgan before he died.
The group, made up of children and teens aged eight to 18, meets weekly at the Watt Close school.
For more information on the event, or to join Bromsgrove Rock School, call Brian Hoggard on 07720 211002 or email admin@dragonmusic.org.
