TWO 'fintastic' children's entertainers will be performing at Bromsgrove's Dolphin Centre on Saturday, as part of a Rednal mum's quest to raise funds for charity.

Midwife Sophie Robinson, 30, pledged to Advertiser readers in January that she would hold a different fundraising event every month for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, after her baby daughter Charlotte was diagnosed with the life-limiting disease.

Bromsgrove Advertiser:

Her first fundraiser will welcome Pirate Pete and Musical Mermaid Merchelle to the Dolphin Centre in School Drive, for an afternoon of water-based entertainment, where children will be given the chance to swim in the pool with a 'real life mermaid'.

Sophie said: "We are so happy to have such special guests join us with our fundraiser - we know it will make quite a splash."

Mermaid Merchelle added: "Most children have never met a mermaid before, so just seeing their faces the first time they see me is so special and I am delighted to help raise money for cystic fibrosis.”

The event will start at 4.45pm on Saturday, July 8.

Tickets are still on sale for £10, which covers catering, entertainment and a donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Birmingham Children's Hospital's cystic fibrosis unit.
