A NEW £6.7 million care home in Bromsgrove has welcomed its first residents after officially opening its doors.

Care UK’s Chandler Court on Recreation Road opened welcomed the first of its residents, catering for up to 81 people, at the end of January.

Home manager Jo Gill said: “We are delighted to have welcomed our first residents this month and have officially started our new chapter here in Bromsgrove.

“We are really proud of the environment that has been created, and every last detail here has been considered to create a high-quality, luxury care home which will enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives."

John Rawlinson, regional director of West Midlands construction firm Stepnell, which has built the new home, added: “It’s thrilling to watch the first residents moving into their smart new accommodation today and see them bring this wonderful building to life.”

The new four-storey care home features 81 ensuite bedrooms, and has been designed to enable its residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence.

The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and will include its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café.
