IT was a busy weekend for north Worcestershire firefighters, as Storm Emma continued to cause flooding and accidents on the roads.
At 10:54am on Saturday, Bromsgrove firefighters were called to Birmingham Road, where a build up of water on a property’s roof had caused the surface to collapse, leaking water into the building.
Crews isolated the electrics and water leak and carried out a salvage operation.
Another water leak at the Kingfishers Shopping Centre in Redditch later that afternoon set off a sprinkler in the mall’s storage room.
The electrics and leak were isolated by town firefighters and the incident was left with maintenance staff.
In Claines Crescent in Kidderminster, a home was flooded after water leaked through the loft.
Fire crews were called to the site at 4.03pm to isolate the water supply externally, and the incident was left with Wyre Forest District Council.
On Sunday morning, Redditch crews were dispatched to another four incidents involving electrics affected by flooding.
