DAME Barbara Windsor is said to be “thrilled” by the reaction from the public over her Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

Broadcaster and journalist Jane Moore, who revealed the actress had been diagnosed with the disease in an interview with her husband Scott Mitchell, said the former EastEnders star was having a “good day” after the news broke.

Moore told ITV’s This Morning that she spoke to Dame Barbara and Mr Mitchell on her way to appear on the TV show, and added: “She’s totally aware of what is happening today. She is watching now."

A PRIVATE funeral for 23-month-old Alfie Evans will be held next week, it has been announced.

In a statement, Merseyside Police said a small number of officers would be in attendance at the funeral of Alfie, who died shortly before his second birthday following a long-running legal battle about whether to continue his life-support treatment.

INSTAGRAM has been hit by a service outage, which left many users unable to see updates to their feed or post new images.

Reports of problems appeared on Thursday afternoon, with users in the UK and around the world claiming there were unable to refresh their news feed or log into the photo-sharing platform.

The issue was fixed within 30 minutes, but thousands of users took to other social media platforms to complain about the outage, which led to the hashtag #instagramdown trending on Twitter.
