A CARE home in Bromsgrove is inviting members of the public to learn more about life with dementia, in an attempt to make the town more dementia-friendly.

The Dementia Friends event will be held on Wednesday, May 23 - during national Dementia Awareness Week - at Care UK's Chandler Court in Recreation Road from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

Dementia Friends Champion and customer relations manager for Care UK, Jim MacLeod, will be on hand to discuss how best to turn knowledge into action to help remove the stigma around dementia and improve support in the community.

Chandler Court manager Jo Gill said: "Here at Chandler Court we strongly believe professional knowledge, insight and shared experiences can make a real difference to the everyday lives of those looking after a loved one living with dementia.

“We want to educate people, but also help the community turn their knowledge into action by making our community more aware of those living with dementia – and Dementia Awareness Week is the perfect opportunity to do just that."

Visitors will be treated to coffee and cake on the day.
