FLASH floods wreaked havoc in Wythall after a month's worth of rain fell in an hour.
The area was hit hard on Sunday as rainwater reportedly five foot deep filled the streets, leaving cars submerged and homes flooded.
Wythall councillor Adam Kent described the scene as like something from an apocalypse.
Cllr Kent, who went door-to-door with Bromsgrove District Council leader Geoff Denaro and Worcestershire County Council cabinet member for environment Tony Miller to help residents, said: “I have never seen anything like it. It was like an apocalypse.
"It could be up to 100 homes that have been affected. It was extremely upsetting.

“In terms of costs with roads too it has got to be well over £10 million worth of damage.
“Residents from all areas were helping, soaked through but the community spirit had to be seen to be believed.
“It will take several months to recover, we will learn and assess what has happened but for now many thanks to all the residents who have assisted and especial thanks to the staff from Worcestershire County Council and Bromsgrove District Council to help those affected.”
Resident Lee Williams, 51, who lives on Sycamore Drive - just one of the streets flooded - said: “It was a bit of a shock.
“There were several houses flooded, flooded to about three or four feet deep downstairs. It was knee high.

“We were using snow shovels to push the water out. I have been here for 20 years and I have never seen any flooding like that.”
A number of residents reported difficulties in receiving support from insurers – an issue Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid has now intervened on.
He said: “I was concerned and saddened to hear of the terrible flooding in Wythall. I can only imagine how devastating it must be for all affected.
“I am keen to do everything I can to help. I have been liaising with Worcestershire County Council and Bromsgrove District Council - and I understand they are doing all they can.
“A number of people have told they are having difficulty reaching their insurer. I have contacted insurers trade body, and they have set up a helpline.”
