MP Sajid Javid has called for Bromsgrove town centre to be recognised at this year's Great British High Street Awards.
Britain's best high street will be announced in November, with the winner receiving £10,000 cash for a local community project.
Mr Javid said: "Bromsgrove town centre is going from strength to strength.
"Our local high street is a great example of how creativity, hard work and support for local businesses allows regional economies to flourish.
"Bromsgrove town centre sets the gold standard for other towns and cities.”
The 26 shortlisted entries in the 'champion high street' category and 12 'rising stars' will be announced in October.
These will then go through to a public vote and be visited by a judging panel made up of industry leaders from across the retail, property and business sectors.
