WOMEN in Bromsgrove have donated more than 1,000 bras to The Wishing Well in Bromsgrove to raise money for a cancer charity.
An appeal was launched in the Advertiser in July as part of Against Breast Cancer's bra recycling scheme - and just 12 weeks on, The Wishing Well has already reached its target.
Practice assistant Tricia Heatley said: "We had no idea that we would be able to collect 1,000 bras in just 12 weeks.
"Most of the women donating the bras know someone or have been personally affected by cancer.
"The response from the general public and our clients has been overwhelming and the team here want to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone."
As part of the project, Against Breast Cancer's recycling partner makes a donation to the charity based on the weight of the bra bank donated.
Tricia added: "We are going to continue this fundraiser until further notice, so please keep bringing your used and unwanted bras."
The money raised will help Against Breast Cancer to continue its work looking for a vaccine.
Anyone wishing to donate can do so by visiting the Wishing Well holistic health centre in St John Street.
