Campaigners fighting for justice for Ryan Passey believe there may still be witnesses who are withholding vital information about the night the popular footballer was stabbed to death in Chicago’s in Stourbridge.

Family and friends of 24-year-old Ryan, from Quarry Bank, have been left devastated since his shocking death on August 6 last year and following the subsequent trial this year of Kobe Murray from Dudley, the man accused of killing Ryan, who was acquitted of murder and manslaughter despite having testified in court that he “stabbed out” during a scuffle in the former town centre nightspot that fateful night.

Campaigners, however, believe, there are still people out there who may have key details about the night’s events.

A man has been charged with driving while unfit through drink or drugs after a car crashed and caused a gas leak in Bewdley, forcing homes to be evacuated.

The crash happened in Kidderminster Road at around 1.15am on November 16, causing damage to railings, the front of a property, and a main gas pipe.

Firefighters from Bewdley and Kidderminster attended, alongside specialists from Cadent Gas Ltd and officers from West Mercia Police - and 30 residents, including two children, were evacuated from 14 nearby homes until the scene was made safe.

Fast food restaurant KFC is to open an outlet at Longbridge Shopping Centre, Bromsgrove Advertiser reports.

The restaurant chain has taken an 10-year lease on a unit at the shopping park and will open in December.
