ADULTS and children are being asked to put their thinking caps on and bring their best joke to a Christmas fair at Father’s Barn in Rubery.
The fair, organised by local brain injury charity Headway, is on Saturday, December 1 from 10.30am until 2.30pm.
Sue Tyler, from Headway Birmingham and Solihull, said: “We’ll have all the usual activities you’d expect at a traditional Christmas fayre – tombola, raffle, charity Christmas cards, cake stall, bouncy castle etc, plus we’ll be holding a Christmas joke competition with a prize on offer for the funniest joke we see on the day.”
The competition has been inspired by one of Headway’s clients, Stephen Lynch, 45, who has been sharing jokes with staff and clients since he first joined Headway.
With the encouragement of staff Stephen has written down all his one-liners and brought them together in one collection he will be selling on the day.
There is free entry to the fair and all money raised will go directly to the charity, helping others like Stephen move forward with their lives post brain injury.
