A NEW community project, aimed at making music more accessible to some young people in Bromsgrove, launches this month.
The project will take place at The Hub, in the basement of Bromsgrove Baptist Church, and is run in partnership with Dragon Music who also run Bromsgrove Rock School.
It starts on Wednesday, January 16 with limited places available, and is aiming to remove the access and financial barriers placed on some young people when taking up music.
It is thanks to a grant from the David Morgan Trust, meaning the youth of Bromsgrove will have free access to play music, with instruments available to play and tuition from professional musicians.
Dragon Music founder, Brian Hoggard, said: “The biggest barrier for many talented young musicians is often a simple lack of money.
“With creativity and the arts being squeezed out of many schools, projects like this help ensure young people have access to develop their music skills.”
