INDEPENDENT foster agency, Foster Care Associates (FCA), recently donated two hand-knitted blankets to a Bromsgrove charity.

The blankets were delivered to The Basement Project on Hanover Street, and were knitted by FCAs foster children.

The FCA Midlands team set up a knitting club for its young people and since then, staff have worked with foster children on a number of projects - most recently on two blankets, which the young people asked to be donated to a local charity.

The Basement Project provides support for care leavers and other young people, aged 16-25, who are at risk of homelessness and are located in Bromsgrove, along with FCA's headquarters.

Pamela Springer, registered manager of FCA Midlands said: “Our young people have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the knitting project this year and it was their choice to donate the blankets to The Basement Project.

"It’s great to see our young people recognise the importance of helping others, and The Basement Project is an extremely worthwhile local cause, close to all of our hearts.

“The Basement Project has done, and continues to do, fantastic work and we hope to work more closely with them in the future.”
