A NUMBER of schools will be attending a Holocaust Memorial Day service, hosted by Bromsgrove District Council.
South Bromsgrove High School’s choir will be performing at the event, which this year has the theme ‘Torn From Home’.
It encourages audiences to reflect on how the enforced loss of a safe place to call ‘home’ is part of the trauma faced by anyone experiencing persecution and genocide.
Council chairman councillor Caroline Spencer said: “Home is definitely where the heart is and to think that you may never be able to go home again is catastrophic.
“This day is a time to reflect on the atrocities which have, and still are happening and how, by coming together, we can work towards making these a thing of the past.”
The service will be held at Parkside, Market Street, on Monday, January 28 at 11am.
Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served after the service which is expected to last around 30 minutes.
