A MAN wanted for a knife attack is still on the run after armed cops raided a block of flats in Rubery.
Residents were warned to stay away from the Cock Hill estate in Rubery on Saturday as armed police sealed off Cock Hill Lane near to a block of flats.
Armed police then attempted to enter a flat on the first floor of Rushmore House.
The lane was closed for a short time and people were being advised to stay indoors.
A police spokesman said armed West Midlands Police officers raided the block after the force received information suggesting a wanted man was inside.
"The man is sought for questioning over a knife attack on October 22 last year that left a man with cuts," a spokesman said.
"Officers entered Rushmore House just after 5.30pm and searched several flats but the man was not found; enquiries continue to try and locate the suspect."
