A WOMAN suffered wrist and leg injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Tonge Moor Road.

Police, fire crews and an ambulance were called to the incident involving a taxi and a car.

All of the people involved were able to get themselves out of the vehicles prior to the emergency services arriving.

One woman, believed to be in her mid-30s, suffered a wrist and leg injury. An ambulance was called.

Firefighters from Bolton North were called to the collision near to the viaduct over the River Tonge at about 5am this morning.

Firefighter Kev Smith said: "The road was blocked by the two vehicles involved in the accident.

"There was no one trapped. We made the vehicle safe and helped with traffic management.

"We left the scene at about 6am and a recovery vehicle had not arrived at that time."
