Police have issued a warning over an an all-female gang targeting pensioners at cashpoints in Blackheath, Cradley Heath and Oldbury.
The young women, believed to be from Eastern Europe, wait for vulnerable victims to input their PIN numbers before they distract them and withdraw hundreds of pounds from their account.
People in Blackheath, Cradley Heath and Oldbury have been targeted in recent months, prompting PCSO Garfield Simpson to issue a warning via West Midlands Police's online alert system WMNow.
He said: "There has been a spate of cashpoint crime/thefts, where victims, upon inputting their PIN numbers into the cash machine, are then distracted by different means so that unknown females can press on the cash machine to withdraw approximately £500.
"It is believe these young female are of Eastern European origin, aged in their early twenties.
"They are possibly part of a gang who target vulnerable or elderly victims.
"These thefts have occurred in Blackheath, Cradley Heath and Oldbury so we ask all to keep an eye out for vulnerable adults who are in our communities."
