A NURSERY in Hagley has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.

Ducklings Day Nursery is among the finalists for the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA)’s Nursery of the Year.

Alyson Burton, nursery manager, said: “We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for the Nursery of the Year award.

"We feel extremely honoured that our parents have taken the time to vote for and support us in our endeavours. Staff and children here are absolutely ecstatic.

"Our staff are passionate about delivering the highest level of care and education to the children and this is a great reflection of the hard work they put in every day.”

NDNA chief executive Purnima Tanuku OBE added: “A huge well done to Ducklings Day Nursery. This is a fantastic achievement for them.

"They should be extremely proud of their amazing and hard work in the early years sector and all that they do supporting young children.

Broadcaster Katie Thistleton will announce the winners at a ceremony at the Chesford Grange hotel in Warwickshire on June 28.

This year's awards have seen 190 applications and almost 6,500 votes, with shortlisted nurseries chosen by the NDNA team.

NDNA is the national charity representing children’s nurseries across the UK.
