A WORCESTER-based teenager hoping to make her mark in women’s football has been snapped up by Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Leonie Joyce, who is 13 and studies at Christopher Whitehead High School, has signed for the Regional Talent Club (RTC) at Wolves, one of 34 such set ups in the country that selects the best prospects from their catchment area.

Since starting out playing against boys from the age of eight, Leonie started out in girls’ football with St John’s Colts followed by Nunnery Wood Vixens and Warndon Village Wildcats before linking up with Redditch United for the past two seasons.
She is the daughter of former Worcester City and Evesham United footballer Wes Joyce.
Wolves play in the fourth tier of women’s football and finished runners-up to arch-rivals West Bromwich Albion in Women's National League Division One Midlands last season.
