A Man has been threatened with a knife in a botched robbery in Bromsgrove.

The incident happened at 10.45pm on Saturday.

West Merica Police are appealing for witnesses or information following the attempted robbery outside an address in Lyttleton Avenue, near the junction with Hewell Avenue.

Two men, believed to be in possession of a knife, approached the victim and demanded money from him before assaulting him by punching and kicking him. The men fled the scene empty-handed.

The victim, a man in his 40s, sustained minor injuries and was was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing.

The first man is described as white, in his mid 20s, around 5'7" tall, of medium build, with brown hair, a neatly trimmed beard, wearing a black cap and a dark jacket. He is believed to walk with a limp.

The second man is described as of larger build and wearing a balaclava.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Iain Standing from West Mercia Police said: "This was a frightening ordeal for the victim and we take all reports of this nature extremely seriously.

"While investigations are ongoing, we are appealing to the public for their help in identifying those responsible and would urge anyone who witnessed the incident to please come forward."
