A NUMBER of artists will be displaying their recent work during a special exhibition in Alvechurch Village Hall next week.

Central to the exhibition, which will have up to 100 original paintings created in the last 12 months by three separate art groups run by Droitwich based Pam McGregor, will be the entries to and winning pictures from a competition set up by local businessman and Tutnall Hall nursing home owner, Kamal Khan.

Kamal set the artists two separate challenges linked by 2019 being a special anniversary of both.

The first was to produce a work of art to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the epic first moon landing and the second was to produce something to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

The entries were then judged by the residents and staff at both Tutnall Hall and also Grosvenor House nursing home in Alvechurch.

The winner was Barnt Green born Ali Collis, with an evocative painting of the D-Day beaches.

The exhibition, which includes many paintings for sale, runs from Thursday, July 25 to Saturday, July 27.

The opening times for the exhibition will be 10am until 6pm (10am until 5pm on the Saturday).

Entry is free and refreshments will also be available.
