AN out-of-this-world astronaut show planned for Bromsgrove this weekend has been grounded - due to an injury to a cast member.

The Urban Astronaut Show was scheduled to run alongside the first-ever Bromsgrove Dining Club in Recreation Road from 11am-7pm.

While the gravity of the injury is unknown, fans should watch this space - as the show plans to return to Bromsgrove's orbit at a later date.

In the show, a space-suited traveller arrives from a polluted and inhospitable future Earth and meets a girl.

A spokesperson from the Urban Astronaut Production Company said: “Due to a cast member’s injury, Urban Astronaut will not be performing as part of Saturday, August 3 activity.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and hope to perform at another event in the town later this year.”

Nonetheless, Bromsgrove’s first-ever street food event, put on by Digbeth Dining Club, will go ahead as scheduled.

Only Jerkin’, Original Patty Men, Bournville Waffle Co, Love Kimchi, Beef on the Block, Goody Gujarati, Dim Sum Su, Urban Cheesecake, Street Kitchen Bros, and Leave it to Esmie are among the food outlets taking part.

Centres manager Cheryl Welsh said: “While this is a shame [about the show], Saturday still promises to be fun for all the family.

"And we have lots to look forward to including the skate and BMX event in the next couple of weeks.

“It also gives people an excuse to explore our independent outlets and enjoy a tasty treat or a beery beverage while they are in town.”
