A WOMAN is in hospital after plunging from a fifth floor window of a tower block in Rubery.

The 29-year-old was taken to hospital with critical injuries after the fall, just before 2am on Saturday.

West Midlands Police officers are investigating how the woman came to fall from Quarry House block on Cock Hill, which is seven floors high.

Two police vehicles and a police cordon were present on the scene.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “Police are investigating after a woman fell from a tower block on Cock Hill Lane in the Rubery area of Birmingham just before 2am on Saturday (31 August).

"The 29-year-old was taken to hospital with critical injuries. She's currently receiving treatment, where her condition is described as critical but stable."

Enquiries are ongoing.
