Last week, I attended the Conservative Party Conference 2019, writes MP and Chancellor of the Exchequer in his Letter From Westminster.

As is tradition, I began my conference weekend by catching up with local activists and councillors from the West Midlands.

It was a brilliant event and it was great to see so many familiar faces.

In my speech to conference on Monday, I reaffirmed the Conservative commitment to supporting families, rewarding hard-work and investing in our public services.

To back-up that commitment, I announced that we’re targeting a rise in the National Living Wage to £10.50 an hour over the next five years – that’s a pay rise for four million people.

I also announced the National Bus Strategy- reaffirming the commitment to spend £220 million on the bus system nationally.

My dad earned his living driving buses and I know how important they are in Bromsgrove - especially for older residents.

This strategy is designed to make buses better value for money and better for the environment.

These policies are just some of the ways the Government is moving forward with its domestic agenda.

As always, whether on a local or national issue, do get in touch via email, phone call or seeing me at a local surgery - I’m always ready to take on your concerns.
