WORCESTER seems set to be spared the worst of torrential sweeping up the UK – but it will still be wet this afternoon and tonight.

The Met Office has shifted eastwardly the patch which covers a yellow weather warning having initially thought the county to be subject to flooding and damage to buildings as well as travel disruption.

A worst of the band of rain making its way north is set to swirl more over the East Midlands with Worcester and the surrounding areas set to be caught by the edge of those storms.

The chance of rain steps up around 2pm with heavier downpours anticipated between 6-8pm tonight.
