A CAR ploughed through a fence in a head-on smash in Cradley Heath.

Part of Corngreaves Road in Cradley Heath was blocked off by West Midlands Fire Service after the dramatic crash which saw a red Golf and a black Mini collide, with the Golf ending up through a fence.

The crash happened at around 12.30pm today (Wednesday).

Passers by rushed to help the driver of one of the vehicles, a woman in her 20s, out of her car.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service sais she was taken to Russells Hall Hospital by ambulance with injuries not believed to be serious.

The other driver, a man, did not wish to be assessed by paramedics and was walking around at the scene.

Both vehicles sustained substantial front end damage.

Fire crews and police were also at the scene.
