A HUGE street party will be held to celebrate independent business in Bromsgrove.

Following its success last year, the Bromsgrove Independent Club is putting together the final touches for its second event on November 23.

The event will showcase the best of local business, including street food vendors, bars, music and entertainment from the town and its surrounding areas.

The Worcester Road Street closure will take place on the same day as the town Christmas Light switch on and aims to attract visitors from across the county to show what Bromsgrove has on offer.

The road will be closed to traffic and replaced with live art installations, DJ performances and traders, including Ollies Eatery, Bayleys of Bromsgrove, The Mexi Co and Dicks Smokehouse.

Businesses on the road will be open as usual.

Antony Hall, from Bromsgrove Independent Club, said: “We hope to show that Bromsgrove has a thriving independent scene and can hold events similar to those taking place in Birmingham and Worcester.

"By supporting local businesses we can give back to the local community, bringing them together by holding events such as this”

The Bromsgrove Independent Club is made up from representatives from a number of local businesses, including graphic designers, photographers and business owners from Worcester Road.

The street party takes place on Worcester Road between 2pm and 9pm on Saturday, November 23 and is open to all of the family.
