OSTEOARTHRITIS sufferers in Bromsgrove can work towards a pain-free 2020 with the help of the successful 'Escape Pain' programme.
Running from 10.30am to 11.30am every Tuesday and Thursday at Bromsgrove Leisure Centre, the sessions are free and will be open to anyone who lives with knee or hip stiffness or pain.
Bromsgrove District Council physical activity development officer Hayley Gwilliam said: “The sessions are most suitable for people suffering from arthritis in their knees or hips and can help anyone who would like to find a better way to deal with joint pain.
"It teaches simple techniques, exercises and understanding, with many past participants’ able move with more confidence and less pain after just six weeks."
To discuss the ESCAPE-pain sessions and find out if they would be suitable for you, call the Sports Development Team on 01527 881404 or email Hayley.gwilliam@bromsgroveandredditch.gov.uk
The next round of sessions will start from Tuesday, January 14.

ESCAPE-pain is a rehabilitation programme for people with osteoarthritis, joint and muscular pain that integrates educational self-management and coping strategies with an exercise regimen.
It helps people understand their condition, teaches them simple things they can help themselves with, and takes them through a progressive exercise programme so they learn how to cope with pain better.
