A BROMSGROVE slimmer has shed lbs and raised £s for charity along the way.

Gemma Mitchell, 37, has lost more than three and a half stone over the past year or so with the help of the Slimming World group at Lickey End Social Club.

In 2019, she ran the Birmingham Half Marathon to raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital and also took on the Pretty Muddy event in aid of Cancer Research.

Gemma said “I love Slimming World as you have a support network around you, it’s easy to follow and it’s not restrictive.

"Before I felt quite lethargic and run down. Now, I feel like a new woman, I have more energy and like clothes again.

"I have more confidence and I am generally just happy."

Tracey Kelham, who runs the group, added “I am so proud of Gemma. She is a valued member of our group and her confidence and spirit have grown enormously.

"She comes to group each week and gets the support she needs to keep working towards her weight loss goals and her Body Magic awards.

"In return she helps others members who may need encouragement along the way. She is a true inspiration.”
