A MAN accused of kicking a PC, striking his thigh, after being arrested for ignoring a non-molestation order was jailed for 20 weeks.

Christopher Jones, 27 of Brookes Avenue, Rhyl, on benefits, admitted assaulting an emergency worker at the town and the breach of the order made by Prestatyn family court.

Magistrates at Llandudno said on Saturday, janaury 25 the assault may have been “more reckless than deliberate” but was still serious. Jones must pay £50 compensation and a £72 surcharge.

Nia Dawson, defending, told the special court he apologised to the officer for his behaviour. Jones hadn’t wanted to be arrested outside a children’s nursery and incapacitant spray had been used on him.

He struggled and didn’t intentionally kick the officer, the solicitor added.
