MORE than 50 exhibitors have signed up for this year's Pensioners' Fair in Bromsgrove - with organiser Sajid Javid MP promising the event will have 'something for everyone'.

The fourth annual Pensioners' Fair will take place on Valentine's Day - Friday, February 14 - from 10am-12noon, at Parkside Hall in Market Street.

Commenting on the variety of exhibitors due to attend, Mr Javid said: “I’m thrilled that so many - and so many different - organisations have agreed to exhibit at the Fair.

"It really goes to show how much talent and creativity we have in our local community.

"Whether residents are looking to join a sports club or social group; get some free advice or enjoy a range of live performances - they will not be disappointed."

“There is just over two weeks to go until my fourth Bromsgrove Pensioners’ Fair - if you haven’t already, do make sure to put the event in your diary!”

The Fair celebrates the contribution made by older members of the community and brings together the best of Bromsgrove’s charities, community groups, social clubs and support networks.

This year, several exhibitors will be making their debut appearance, including the Bromsgrove Walking Sports Centre.

Only founded in the last 12 months, the centre has adapted a variety of sporting activities into walkable formats, increasing accessibility and participation.

Founder, Alan Gormley, said he was looking forward to welcoming those interested in the “physical, mental and social benefits of walking sports”

He added: “We are delighted to have an opportunity to be part of this excellent initiative.

"Our mission is to get as many people as possible to come along for fun, friendship and fitness with lots of like-minded people.”

The Fair will also host local organisations promoting health and wellbeing, including many of the local agencies that work together in the Ageing Well Group of the Bromsgrove Partnership.

Act on Energy offers free and impartial pointers on household energy needs, including advice on energy bills, fuel Switching and the availability of grants.

Their CEO, Rachel Jones, said: “The Pensioners Fair is a great opportunity for us to engage directly with local residents, to provide information and answer questions.”

Other new exhibitors include the Avoncroft Folk Dance Group, BK Sewing Studio and DentaDenta.
