WORCESTER City Royals signed off for the coronavirus-enforced break with a 4-1 home win over 303 Squadron in Cheltenham League Division Three.

Seventh-placed Royals moved within one point of their visitors with a game in hand.

An own goal, Joshua Hughes, Callum Hill and Jack Martin led the King George V Playing Fields side to victory.

After a slow start Royals went 1-0 down before a Martin corner was pushed into his own net by the Squadron keeper.

A free-kick into the box from Ryan Mapp was then taken down by Hughes who slotted past the keeper to put Worcester ahead for the first time.

Royals dominated and early in the second half the away centre-half slipped with Hill taking advantage to make it 3-1.

The game was finally put to bed when Ben Goode turned his opponent in the box and was brought down for Martin to net from the penalty spot.

Meanwhile, bottom-of-the-table Malvern Vale Reserves lost 3-0 at home to FC Lakeside Reserves.

Kempsey Corinthians, who are fourth in Division Four, thrashed hosts Apperley 7-0.

Nathan Clarke (3), Jonathan Lee (2), George Randall and Louis Smith scored the goals.

Eighth-placed Welland Reserves saw off St Pauls United 3-1 in Division Two.

Malvern Vale Firsts and Hanley Swan did not play in Division One.

It will be the last games for some time as the FA have suspended football at all levels now for "the foreseeable future".
