FOUR men have been fined after a "party" at a reservoir on Wednesday night, despite coronavirus social distancing guidance and restrictions on group meetings.
At around 7.36pm on April 8, 2020, North Yorkshire police received reports of a group congregating at Cod Beck Reservoir, which is in the North York Moors National Park and near the village of Osmotherley.
Officers attended and four men were issued notices for breach of Covid-19 conditions.
The fines follow new policing powers, enabled through legislation introduced under the Coronavirus Act, whereby officers can fine or arrest people flouting social distancing rules.
Groups of more than two will be split up, and people should not be with others unless they live together.
The Northern Echo understands that the men had tents, however police could not confirm this. Police also said its drone was not used during the incident.
