POLICE have spent several days searching a large stretch of the Bromsgrove countryside for the body of a missing woman who is presumed murdered.

Officers investigating the disappearance of 28-year-old Zobaidah Salangy have been searching roads between Stoke Pound and Upper Bentley since the end of last week.

They are believed to have been concentrating their attention on Copyholt Lane and Black Lake Lane, both of which have been partially or wholly closed at various times over the past few days.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson confirmed to the Advertiser: “There is currently an increased police presence in the Upper Bentley area of Bromsgrove.

“Officers are carrying out enquiries in regards to the ongoing murder investigation.”

The areas being searched are within four miles of the Charford home where Zobaidah went missing from more than a fortnight ago on Sunday, March 29, after telling family she was going out for a jog.

Nezam Salangy, 42, of Austin Road, was arrested on suspicion of murder last week and has since been charged with murder.

Mohammed Ramin Salangy, 29, from Adamscroft Place, Cardiff, has been charged with assisting an offender in connection with the disappearance of Zobaidah.
