MOTORISTS are being warned that a busy Bromsgrove road will be closed for almost a month due to roadworks.

The B4096 Old Birmingham Road through Lickey End was shut in both directions as of Monday morning (May 11) for Severn Trent Water works.

It will not reopen until June 8 and drivers have been warned to avoid the road and use the A38 instead.

A Bromsgrove police spokesperson said: "This is an arterial route from Bromsgrove to Barnt Green and Lickey - please plan an alternative route.

"A clear diversion route will be in place, (it is) best to use the A38 to get around the closure."
