BURGLARS broke in to a Barnt Green house but were disturbed by the householders before they could steal anything.

The attempted burglary happened just after midnight on Tuesday, May 12, at a house on Fiery Hill Road.

The suspects - described as two hoodie-clad men - forced open a back door to break in to the house.

Police said the offenders conducted what they termed a 'tidy search' of the drawers in a downstairs room before being heard.

After being alerted to the homeowners' presence, the intruders fled empty-handed through the back door and leapt over the garden fence.

Hagley and Rubery Safer Neighbourhood Team police officers are appealing for anyone with information on the break-in to get in touch.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone in the vicinity who might have CCTV footage of the area on the night concerned.

Anyone who can help should call 101, quoting incident reference number 0009S 120520.
