Two brothers have appeared in court charged with helping their older sibling dispose of a Bromsgrove woman's body after he allegedly murdered her.

Mohammed Yasin Salangi, 32, and Mohammed Ramin Salangy, 29, who are brothers despite spelling their surnames differently, appeared in court on Monday accused of assisting an offender.

They are charged in connection with the disappearance of Zobaidah Salangy, who went missing on March 29 after telling family members she was going for a jog.

Nezam Salangy, 42, of Talbot Road, Bromsgrove, has already appeared in court charged with murdering the 28-year-old.

During a 16-minute hearing at Worcester Crown Court, a judge said Ms Salangy had still not been found.

Specially trained police officers have been scouring parts of the countryside on the outskirts of Bromsgrove since she disappeared.

During the hearing, conducted over Skype because of the Covid-19 lockdown, both younger brothers spoke only to enter their pleas.

Mohammed Ramin Salangy pleaded not guilty to a charge that he assisted Nezam Salangy in disposing of the body between March 27 and 30.

Mohammed Yasin Salangi also entered a not guilty plea to a charge that he assisted his older brother in connection with the disposal of remains.

The men, both of Adamscroft Place, Cardiff, appearing over a video-link from HMP Birmingham, were remanded back into custody for a pre-trial hearing in September.

Judge James Burbidge QC said: "You have both pleaded not guilty to the charges you face. A jury will try you and you'll be entitled to give evidence before that jury if you choose. Then the jury will decide whether you're guilty or not."

He remanded the pair to stand trial alongside their older brother at the city's crown court on March 16 next year.
