A TRUCK and a car were badly damaged in a crash near a roundabout.

Sussex Police were called to Seven Dials in Brighton shortly before 11am to deal with the incident.

Officers arrested the driver of one of the cars on suspicion of drugs offences.

A blue Vauxhall, a large white truck and one other vehicle were involved in the crash.

The front right headlight of the Vauxhall was destroyed and the bonnet was left crumpled and missahpen by the impact.

A large piece of the white truck's body was left hanging off the side of the vehicle as it also sustained heavy damage in the crash.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: "At 10.50am three cars collided in Dyke Road, Hove, near Seven Dials.

"One of the drivers, aged 45, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs and possession of cocaine and is currently in custody for interview and further enquiries.

"There are no current reports of injuries."

The Argus:

Bus services were diverted as a result of the crash.

A Brighton and Hove Buses spokesman said: "Due to a police incident, all number 27 services are having to divert.

"Buses travelling towards Withdean from Seven Dials are using Davigdor Road, Montefiore Road, Old Shoreham Rd and Upper Drive.

"This diversion is the same towards Saltdean but in reverse."
