Investigation launched after woman was punched and spat at outside shop
POLICE are investigating an assault where a woman was punched and spat at outside a Sainbury's in Westcliff.
A woman in her 30s, was verbally abused, spat at and punched outside the Sainsbury’s in Hamlet Court Road at around 11.50am Thursday May 14.
A man has since presented himself at Southend Police Station and will be voluntarily interviewed in due course in connection to the incident.
