A PUPIL from Longtown has bagged the main prize after the winners of a countywide competition were announced.
The Cumbria Education Trust recently held a competition as part of My Money Week that had pupils design a Cumbrian themed door.
Aidan Lewis, a year two pupil at Longtown Primary School, won the overall competition with his door which featured a Cumberland sausage.
Lorrayne Hughes, chief executive of the trust, said “I am delighted with the standard of entries this year and the range of designs on each door showing off the best of our local area.
“It is fantastic to see one of the younger pupils across our trust schools winning the overall prize too.”
The theme of this year’s competition was chosen, and judged, by More Handles.
Each winner was given a £50 cheque which was put into a junior ISA.
The overall winner received £100 to go into an ISA.
Paul Nelson from More Handles said: “I honestly think they are all brilliant.
"It is very hard to decide which entry deserves the prize the most.”
