BROMSGROVE Tennis Club has raised a “smashing” £1,000 from its recent charity raffle in aid of a Worcestershire NHS charity.

Kind-hearted coaches at the club got together to organise the raffle for health-themed prizes to support the work of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

The raffle raised a total of £1,000, which was presented to the charity's Nicky Langford by James Griffiths, head coach at Bromsgrove Tennis Club.

James said: “We are delighted to have raised £1,000 for such a worthwhile charity and are very grateful to all the local businesses such as Solid Soul Fitness who generously donated such great prizes.

"And of course a huge thank you to everyone who supported the raffle by buying tickets."

Bromsgrove Tennis Club is based at St Godwalds Road in Aston Fields and welcomes all new members, whatever their age or ability.

Annual membership starts from £47 for juniors - email the membership secretary at bromsgrovetennismembership@gmail.com for details.

Nicky Langford, community fundraising officer at the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals charity, said: “We are hugely grateful for the tremendous support from Bromsgrove Tennis Club, firstly in setting up an online raffle and then sourcing their own prizes from members and the community.

"It’s an incredible achievement to have raised £1,000. This further demonstrates the passion and commitment of the people of Worcestershire in supporting our patients and staff through this pandemic."
