Across England, the wearing of face coverings is now mandatory in shops, supermarkets and on public transport.

Those who do not wear one could be fined up to £100, the Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said.

However - there are some parts of the guidance that many people seem to be forgetting.

They are:

  • When applying or removing the covering, it is important that you wash/sanitise your hands first and avoid touching your face.
  • After EACH USE, you must wash the face covering at 60 degrees centigrade or dispose of it safely.
