ONE person has been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle "head-on" crash at a set of roadworks on a Bournemouth roundabout this afternoon.

Police were called to the two-vehicle crash at the Boundary Roundabout at 12.38pm.

Talbot Avenue and Wallisdown Road was closed between Glenferness Avenue and Kinson Road.

The road has been reopened.

The fire service attended along with the ambulance service.

There are no details on injuries sustained at this stage.

Two fire crews from Redhill Park and Springbourne rushed to the scene at 12.44pm.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Those involved were in the care of the ambulance before our crews arrived so they made sure the scene was safe before the stop came at 13.03pm."

Work began last month at Boundary Roundabout on a major £1.6million project.
