Astwood Bank Cricket Club, of the Worcestershire County Premier Division, continue their journey this weekend which will hopefully end with an appearance at Lord’s, the spiritual home of English cricket.

The ‘Bank are no strangers to the Village Cup, reaching Lord’s in 2003 and narrowly missing out on last season's show piece final, falling to eventual runners-up Houghton Main in a thrilling semi-final.

Bank skipper Pete Alexander said: “We have a brand-new main sponsor, in the form of Arden Estate Agents and we've been given an unexpected chance to go one better this year in the knockout. The lads are raring to go”

Astwood Bank's next match is at home to Temple Grafton on Sunday 16th August, a Warwickshire team that can boast the inclusion of former Aston Villa and England midfielder Gareth Barry amongst their ranks.

Bank Chairman Mark Brind has confirmed that visitors are welcome to come along to support and the clubhouse bar will be open. he also mentioned that there is plenty of space and all social distancing measures in place.
