POLICE are appealing for witnesses to help identify two men captured on CCTV following a serious assault in Rubery.

At Around 9am this morning (Wednesday, September 9) a homeless man was assaulted by two young men close to the Co-Op supermarket on New Road.

They then reportedly used an electrical stun device on the victim who has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Both suspects are described as in their early twenties. One man is a white, 5ft 5 tall, slim build wearing a black puffer jacket with a yellow zip. The other man is black, 5ft 5” tall, with a slim build and wearing all black clothing.

Sergeant Harjit Singh said: “I would like to reassure the local community that officers are investigating this terrible assault and carrying out enquiries in and around the town centre. We would ask the public to please call us as soon as possible on 101 if they can identify the men in the CCTV images. We would also like to hear from any witnesses.”

Anyone with information on the identification or whereabouts of either of the two men is urged to call 101 quoting incident number 00127i of 9 September 2020.
