Report submitted by Bromsgrove Sporting
Last week, at the Pitching In Southern League Annual General Meeting, Bromsgrove Sporting Director and Football Secretary, Dave Stephens was elected as a Director of the Southern League Board.
There were three places available with six candidates vying for them, two of which were seeking re-election.
The votes were cast by all member clubs and Dave managed to finish in the top two and will serve for four years.
It is believed that Dave is the first representative from Bromsgrove to be elected since the late 1970s, when Sid Cross, a Bromsgrove Rovers director sat on the then management committee.
Commenting on Dave's achievement, Sporting chairman Mike Burke said "This is an honour not just for the Club but for the town of Bromsgrove to have somebody in an important role on a national body. It also reflects on the respect Dave has amongst his peers in football administration and the hard work he does not just for Bromsgrove Sporting but for the game as a whole".
