BROMSGROVE residents are being encouraged to participate in more physical activity by completing the council’s '30 Days of Fitness Challenge'.

The council’s Development Services Team are challenging residents to have a go at some sort of exercise for a minimum of ten minutes, every single day, for 30 days, starting on National Fitness Day (Wednesday, September 23).

Residents can keep an eye on the council’s social media feeds for more inspiration on different ways to get active.

The team have created a 30-day calendar for participants to keep track of what they are doing each day. The calendar can be downloaded from the council’s website.

The Starting Well team will also be sharing ideas and tips to help keep the whole family active throughout next week.

On top of this, they will be running a competition to win a fitness hamper, including lots of goodies to help you stay fit at home.

Councillor Phil Thomas, whose portfolio covers leisure services, said: “Being physically active is good for your mental well-being, as well as your body.

"This year has been an unusual one and I’m sure most of us have been guilty of not exercising or moving enough during lockdown.

"Now is the perfect time to change those bad habits and drop some lockdown pounds.

"We’d love to see photos of you taking part or sharing the ways you’re getting active.”
