DRIVERS are being warned that the A38 in Bromsgrove will be closed every night this week for improvement works.

The busy road will be shut between Junction 4 of the M5 and Junction 1 of the M42 each night from 9pm-6am from Monday to Friday (September 21-25).

Access for local residents, however, will be maintained.

As well as the two motorway junctions, works are also being undertaken at Barley Mow Lane.

The works are part of the A38 corridor improvement scheme designed to ease congestion and delay at key junctions that causes irregular journey times.

The need to improve the A38 corridor from Lydiate Ash (M5, Junction 4) to Hanbury Turn (junction with B4091 Hanbury Road) was identified in Worcestershire’s Fourth Local Transport Plan.

The works also include a range of improvements to cycling and walking routes alongside and over the A38.

Worcestershire County Council say the first phase of the improvements will be completed by the end of the year.
