Stourport ladies 4th XI went down 4-1 in their Worcestershire 2nd Division match against their visitors to 'The Kingsway,' last weekend.*

After the premature end to the previous season Stourport ladies 6th XI began this season with a 4-0 defeat by their hosts, Bromsgrove 4th's in last weekend's friendly.

With Covid-19 procedures in place for players on and off the pitch Bromsgrove started the brighter of the two sides, putting the Stourport defence under immediate pressure from the hit back with the Stourport defence having to be on their toes to prevent the home side from going ahead. In particular an outstanding performance from Stourport's young goalkeeper prevented the home team from going ahead early on.

Although Stourport did breakout of their half on occasions, Bromsgrove were relentless in pushing forward and eventually created the opening which lead to the first goal. The home side continuing to dominate again and again found themselves, thwarted by Stourport defence and keeper. The home sides told though as first they added a second, third, and then a fourth before the half time break.

The half time was not a reflection on how Stourport had been playing though, and Stourport came out after the break more determined to show that their fine passing hockey could yield results in front of goal. This determination produced some good chances for the visitors, in a half that was more evenly balanced and saw Bromsgrove failing to make any further impact on the score and unfortunately for Stourport they were unable to influence the score to their advantage.
